Star receives a call from dispatch to say that a woman claims to have seen someone break into her neighbour's house, and Star is asked to investigate. On arriving at the premises, Star is greeted by a man in a hat and sunglasses who claims to be the house owner, but when Star spots a mask on the steps behind him, she becomes suspicious and enters the house. The man turns on her and knocks her to the floor. When Star wakes, she finds herself bound in a hogtie and completely naked. She threatens the burglar, warning him that if he does not let her go she will make it her personal mission to bring him down. He laughs as he gags her then gathers up the jewellery he has acquired, plus Star's pistol and radio. Star is left alone to struggle and eventually she manages to free herself (in fact, she needed help with this). She dresses and calls a colleague, asking her to bring a replacement radio and firearm. Before leaving the house, Star finds a scrap of paper with an address and a time. She looks up the name of the premises and discovers that it is a company handling diamonds, clearly the thief's fence. Later, Star goes to the address shown on the scrap of paper and lets herself in, taking the burglar by surprise. She tells him to put his hands behind his back so that she can handcuff him, but Star doesn't see his accomplice creeping up behind her. The accomplice takes Star's weapon and she is forced to kneel where she is again tied up. This time, the criminals don't plan to leave a witness. Star is led to the garage and placed on the back seat of a car where he ankles and thighs are bound. A hosepipe is attached to the exhaust, the other end passed through a small gap at the top of one of the rear windows. Before departing, the man starts the car engine and bids his captive goodbye. His one mistake was in not searching Star who has a cellphone in her back pants pocket. She manages to call 911 and makes a muffled cry for help. She is almost comatose by the time the siren of a fire truck is heard. Moments later, the garage door opens and a fireman rescues the distressed cop.
