Rachel used to be a member of the military and, as such, had high level clearance for various projects. However, since retiring and taking on a civilian role, her access is limited and she now works only on low level projects. This information is not widely known, so when a man seeking information about a particular classified project grabs Rachel and ties her up to interrogate her, she tries to explain that she no longer has that kind of access. The man does not believe her and warns that he has ways to extract information from her, and it would be better for her if she just cooperated. When Rachel continues to insist that she does not have the necessary clearance, her captor becomes annoyed and leaves her tied to a chair while he makes arrangements to render her far less comfortable. Taken down to the basement of the house, Rachel is hogtied on a bench, and also tied to the bench itself. A block containing hundreds of spikes is placed under her face, and she is told that these are tipped with a poison. Rachel is compelled to hold her head up to keep herself safe, and the spikes will only be removed when she surrenders the necessary information. She continues to insist that she can't, so finally giving up on her, the man gags her with duct tape and leaves her to her fate.
